The Chinese Language Institute (CLI) is dedicated to the teaching of Chinese language and popularization of Chinese culture. Independently directed and funded, the institute’s mission is to provide the best teaching possible. The teaching arm of the institute is non-profit. The institute also provides corporate training and translation services.
I founded CLI in May 2005 when I noticed the lack of hi-quality Chinese training in India. We were the first private institute anywhere in India to bring Chinese teachers from universities in China to teach Indian students.
I ran CLI full-time for a few months and then my Mom took over. I’m happy to say that CLI is doing way better under her than it ever did under me. My Mom’s energy is amazing. It also helps tremendously that she is an educationist. While I am not involved with the day to day running of CLI anymore, I still take an active part in strategy and marketing.

However, i almost happened to jump off my seat when i reached this page. I was searching for an institute to learn Chinese in Mumbai, but couldnt find any decent place. Do you have plans to start CLI in Mumbai?? If yes…i could be your first student…
