善唯呈和 — The ChinaBhai

About Me

I’m a 28 year old Leo.

Mini-CV

Work experience:

Current: Komli Media, Bombay; The Chinese Language Institute, New Delhi; HealthAbroad.net

Past: TaklaShan Consulting, Hangzhou and Kunming; International Labour Organization, Geneva; Deloitte Consulting, Seattle; Yunnan University, Kunming

Education:

Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi, India
Bachelors in Economics and Political Science (double major), Whitman College, USA
Teaching and Research, Yunnan University, China
Graduate studies in Economics, Institut universitaire de hautes études internationales (HEI), Université de Genève, Switzerland

The time I spent at graduate school taught me something — that I didn’t want to do anything more with economic theory. I have fundamental objections to conventional economic theory as it is taught today, and I’ve expressed my objections and frustration in a couple of articles on my old blog.

After a year-long stint at the ILO, I’ve been working on my own. I’m making less money than I should but I’ve never been more engaged with life! Go, be an entrepreneur.

Other:

A China-man by heart, but not by temperament. (What was that about patience being a virtue?)

An ironman-marathon-winning athlete in my dreams, a slender, tennis-mad, crunches-pounding poser during the day.

An Indian who wishes that India were less like India.

Languages:

English (native), Hindi (native), Chinese (fluent, active) and French (fluent, passive)

One obsession:

Train India’s Wimbledon champion in this life. I never had the training to be good enough to do it but hell yeah, I’ll make sure someone else does it. You think I’m joking? Check back with me when I’m 60. If I haven’t done it by then, I’ll fly you over from wherever you are in the world, treat you to an awesome dinner and gift you 10% of whatever I’m worth. The other 90% will stay invested in the tennis academy so buzz off.

One thing I can do without:

Multi-tasking. I hate that word. I don’t know how people can do many things well simultaneously. I can barely do one thing well. Having to deal with many different things makes my toes itch. That doesn’t sound too bad, but it is a bad thing.
